Carl has served as the Asset Manager for The 808 since February of 2021 when Lamar and Shari talked him out of retirement to help build their vision for the ranch. Through his career, Carl built a reputation for producing consistently in-demand Angus calves. After graduating from Texas AM (Ag Econ) in 1978, Carl helped launch JAC’s Ranch in NW Arkansas with Lamar and personally selected GK Discovery (1982 National Champion) as a calf to be the first herd sire at Jac’s Ranch. He then worked in NW Missouri for the Glen Klippenstein at GK Farms, the industry leader in carcass quality and Great Genetics at the time. Carl moved on to manage Pearson Land & Cattle Company at Rich Hill, Missouri for nearly 30 years before he retired, and then quit retirement to work with Lamar and Shari. Carl has acquired decades of experience in the industry and brings his unique expertise, enthusiasm and hospitality to The 808 Ranch.
