PEA RIDGE, Ark. (April 7, 2025)—Nationally recognized beef cattle expert Lamar Steiger and his wife, Shari Shewmaker Steiger, recently announced plans to extend their Missouri-based The 808 Ranch to a significant Northwest Arkansas plot of land held in their family since 1970.
The expansion – to be named The 808 Ranch at the Ridge – encompasses land between Pea Ridge and Bentonville that was formerly part of Jac’s Ranch on Highway 72. While complete plans were not disclosed, the roughly 1000-acre ranch property will serve as an extension of the Steigers' 600-acre location of The 808 Ranch on the Elk, 35 miles away near the Missouri/Oklahoma state line.
Steiger and The 808 Ranch are nationally known for using Precision Genetics ranching protocol, which aims to consistently measure and produce the best black Angus cattle. Steiger is an agricultural consultant who worked with Walmart and Sam’s Club to improve their beef supply chain, agtech companies, and speaks at conferences worldwide. He is also the founder and president of Ranch2Retail, a beef supply chain company located in Rogers, Arkansas.

As for The 808 Ranch at the Ridge, Steiger said plans are still being developed for a phased growth approach over the next several years. He said the community may see updates to existing infrastructure on the land, but most of 2025 will be spent letting the land rest. Steiger said his nephew Sam Steiger would be the property manager of the Ridge location.
Pea Ridge Mayor Nathan See said Jac’s Ranch has been a known community landmark, supporting generations of ranchers, and is excited about the continued use of the land by The 808 Ranch.
